UAE Air Defenses Shoot Down 6 Ballistic Missiles, 7 Cruise Missiles and 39 Drones From Iran

On March 11, the United Arab Emirates successfully intercepted a large-scale aerial assault comprising six ballistic missiles, seven cruise missiles, and 39 drones launched from Iran. This marks another intense wave in Iran’s ongoing hostile campaign against UAE territory, further escalating tensions in the Gulf region. The Ministry of Defense reported that since the conflict began, UAE air defenses have neutralized a total of 268 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,514 unmanned aerial vehicles.

These attacks have directly affected the civilian population, resulting in six fatalities including Emirati nationals and expatriate workers from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Additionally, at least 131 others sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. The relentless missile and drone strikes threaten not only UAE national security but also regional stability and the safety of foreign workers in the country.

The scale and frequency of these attacks point to a dangerous escalation in Iran’s military operations against Gulf states. The UAE government declared its full preparedness to continue defending its airspace and sovereignty, warning that it will respond firmly to any threats undermining its security. The situation heightens concerns over a broader conflict erupting in the Persian Gulf, potentially impacting crucial global energy supply routes and regional geopolitical order.

This intensifying conflict underscores the vulnerability of Gulf states to missile and drone warfare and raises the stakes for diplomatic efforts to halt Iran’s aggressive campaign. The UAE’s robust air defense response highlights its strategic role in countering Iranian military provocations amid growing regional instability.
