Qatar Condemns Iranian Attacks in UN Meeting with Kyrgyz Official

Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, met with Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of Kyrgyzstan's Cabinet of Ministers, in New York to address regional security concerns. During the meeting, Qatar condemned attacks by Iran against its territory, citing ongoing violations and invoking UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which calls for the immediate halt of such assaults on Gulf states.
Kyrgyzstan affirmed its solidarity with Qatar and underscored the necessity of regional stability to prevent escalation. The conversation reflects growing international concern over Iranian military actions that threaten Gulf countries’ sovereignty and raise security risks beyond the immediate region.
This dialogue also highlights broader geopolitical alignments and the leveraging of multilateral forums like the UN to build diplomatic support against Iranian provocations. Qatar, a key Gulf Cooperation Council member, continues to seek international backing for its defense and calls for stronger measures to deter future Iranian attacks.
The meeting comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf as Iran’s actions risk destabilizing strategic trade routes and political relationships. Support from countries outside the Gulf, such as Kyrgyzstan, signals wider international recognition of these threats.
