Tunisian Foreign Minister Meets GCC Ambassadors to Condemn Iranian Attacks in Gulf Region

Tunisia’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti convened a meeting on March 18 with ambassadors from GCC member states, including Qatar, to address rising tensions following Iranian attacks against Gulf countries. These attacks have been widely condemned by the GCC for undermining the security and stability of the region.

Eighteen GCC ambassadors reaffirmed their firm stance against the assaults, stressing the necessity of upholding principles of neighborly relations and international law. They warned that continued Iranian aggression could have severe consequences for peace and stability in the Gulf.

Tunisia, while not a GCC member, expressed strong interest in the unfolding Gulf crisis. Minister Nafti reiterated Tunisia’s commitment to closely follow geopolitical developments and support efforts aimed at maintaining regional security. This meeting signals Tunisia’s desire to engage constructively with Gulf nations amid rising regional tensions.

The discussions also underscore broader concerns over Iran’s growing regional influence and the potential for escalation, impacting millions in the Gulf and surrounding areas. Maintaining open diplomatic channels remains crucial as Gulf states seek to deter further hostile actions.
