Saudi Foreign Minister Condemns Israeli Attacks on Gaza, Calls for Immediate Ceasefire

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan addressed a high-level United Nations event in Geneva to highlight the dire human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territories amid continuing conflict. He stressed that Gaza’s civilians face intense suffering with widespread bombings, forced displacement, and acute hunger. The minister stated that Israel’s military campaign has caused approximately 30,000 Palestinian deaths, mostly women and children, and displaced about 75% of Gaza’s population.

He noted that 2.2 million people in Gaza are severely affected by food insecurity, underscoring the humanitarian crisis deepening in the enclave. The minister called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, framing it as essential to halt ongoing violations of international humanitarian law. The speech reflects escalating international concern over civilian casualties and worsening living conditions amid the conflict.

This development highlights the regional and global pressure mounting on Israel to cease military operations, while emphasizing the broader humanitarian fallout affecting millions of Palestinians. The call for ceasefire from a prominent Gulf state signals Saudi Arabia’s increasing diplomatic activism on the Palestinian issue. The event puts further international attention on Gaza’s humanitarian disaster and the urgent need for conflict resolution.
