UK Urges UN to Protect Palestinians to Maintain Viability of Two-State Solution

The United Kingdom has expressed deep concern over the worsening conflict in the Middle East, particularly the humanitarian toll on Palestinian civilians in Gaza and the West Bank. Speaking at the United Nations Security Council, the UK stressed the urgency of protecting the Palestinian population to preserve the possibility of a two-state solution.
The UK supports the Council’s Resolution 2803 and President Trump’s 20-Point Plan for Gaza, calling for rapid implementation of its second phase to restore stability. Repeated breaches of the ceasefire have resulted in ongoing loss of life and undermined diplomatic efforts.
The UK singled out Hamas and other militant groups in Gaza as obstacles to peace, insisting they have no role in governance. This stance underscores a broader international push to separate political solutions from militant influence.
The escalating violence threatens to derail long-standing peace efforts and deepen regional instability. The UK’s intervention highlights the critical need for renewed dialogue and tangible actions to prevent further humanitarian disasters and sustain a viable two-state framework.
