Nevada Man Pleads Guilty to New Tax Fraud Scheme Targeting Adult Industry Clients

Michael J. Moore, who runs X Tax Pros in Las Vegas, pleaded guilty to wire fraud, aggravated identity theft, and aiding the filing of false federal tax returns. Moore specialized in serving clients within the adult entertainment industry, falsely promising that his tax filings would eliminate their tax obligations to the IRS. Instead, these false returns inflated tax refunds that the clients had no entitlement to receive.

Between August and October 2025, Moore systematically prepared fraudulent tax documents, creating misleading entries and fabrications to misrepresent his clients' financials. The IRS was defrauded of significant funds, undermining the integrity of the tax collection system.

This case follows a prior related guilty plea Moore entered in a separate tax fraud case, underlining a persistent pattern of criminal conduct. The impact extends beyond Moore’s direct clients, who could face further legal consequences, and threatens overall public trust in tax administration.

Authorities continue to investigate the broader scope of fraudulent tax preparation businesses exploiting vulnerable client groups, highlighting the challenges facing the IRS in policing complex tax crime schemes.
