11 Syrian personnel killed in weapons depot blast near Deir ez-Zor
The Syrian Ministry of Defence said 11 of its personnel were killed in an explosion at a weapons depot at an army site near the town of Ayyash, west of Deir ez-Zor Governorate. The ministry said it has opened investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. A funeral for those killed was held at Deir ez-Zor National Hospital on Saturday. Officials and military personnel attended the ceremony, according to the ministry's statement.
