At least 13 people have been killed after a military aircraft crashed near homes in Kenge, in the southwestern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The plane was travelling towards the capital, Kinshasa, from Kikwit when it suffered a technical malfunction. At least 41 people have died after a boat capsized on Lake Tanganyika in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with 49 others rescued and search operations still under way.
