A deadly spree of gang violence in Haiti’s Artibonite region has left at least 70 people dead and more than 30 injured, according to human rights organizations. The attacks by the ‘Gran Grif’ gang devastated the towns of Jean Denis and Pont Sonde, destroying over 50 homes and forcing nearly 6,000 residents to flee for their safety. Many displaced families are now living in dire conditions in nearby towns.
