Jaime Ernesto Alvarez-Gonzalez, a Mexico citizen unlawfully present in the United States, pleaded guilty in federal court to impersonating a U.S. The offense occurred on January 8, 2026, in San Diego, California. Alvarez-Gonzalez closely followed an actual Border Patrol agent while driving a black Ford F-150 truck that was altered to appear as an undercover Border Patrol vehicle. The truck displayed a Border Patrol sticker on the windshield, had non-functioning radio communication antennae mounted on the roof, a lightbar on the dashboard, and a license plate frame labeled "Ferderal Truck" (sic.).
