U.S. directs Europe command to oversee Ukraine security assistance reorganization
European Command to oversee the reorganization of Security Assistance Group-Ukraine and the realignment of roles and responsibilities across SAG-U and NATO Security Assistance and Training-Ukraine. The announcement was issued from Stuttgart, Germany. U.S. officials said the reorganization will not affect U.S. support for Ukraine. They said the changes are intended to increase the functional efficiency and effectiveness of security assistance to Ukraine, shift leadership for key elements of the mission to allies, and free U.S. resources for other U.S. global priorities.
