Meloni hails final approval of law on recovery programmes for drug-related offenders
Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers, said she was satisfied with the final approval of a law strengthening the possibility for people convicted of offences committed as a result of drug addiction to undergo a recovery programme under house arrest at a therapeutic community instead of remaining in prison. The measure applies when the sentence does not exceed eight years' imprisonment.
