Magnitude 6.2 earthquake strikes off eastern Indonesia, with no tsunami threat reported
A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off eastern Indonesia on Friday, shaking parts of North Maluku province. The tremor was recorded west of Tobelo at a depth of 120 kilometres, according to the US Geological Survey. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.The quake occurred at 11:31 local time, which was 02:31 GMT, and was centred about 58 kilometres west of Tobelo.
