On March 9, 2026, Mary’s Harbour RCMP responded to a report of a stolen pickup truck taken from a home in Port Hope Simpson, Newfoundland and Labrador. At approximately 7:45 p.m., officers spotted the vehicle traveling toward St. Lewis and attempted to pull it over, but the driver fled. The chase lasted nearly an hour, with RCMP officers from Forteau assisting in tracking the vehicle. The suspect finally stopped near Red Bay where police arrested him without further incident.
