Four UK-based taxi drivers were convicted and sentenced for participating in a migrant smuggling ring that transported illegal migrants from the UK to France concealed in lorries. At the center of the operation was Madjid Belabes, who earned around £290,000 by charging migrants £1,200 each for passage to mainland Europe.
