Since the current government took office, over 63,000 knives and weapons have been removed from the streets through multiple initiatives. These include successful surrender schemes, bans on zombie-style knives, machetes, and ninja swords, which alone yielded 57,726 surrendered weapons. Border Force has intercepted 4,656 knives at UK borders, and the police, through the County Lines Programme, have confiscated an additional 1,229. During this period, knife-related homicides have decreased by 27%. Knife-point robberies have declined by 10%, and hospital admissions due to stab wounds have fallen by 11%.
