Richmond Police Crack Down on Illegal Stopping During Cherry Blossom Season
During the weekend of March 28-29, Richmond police stepped up traffic enforcement along Russ Baker Way near Larry Berg Flight Path Park in British Columbia to address dangerous congestion caused by illegal stopping. Cherry blossom season attracts large crowds, and many drivers were stopping despite posted no-stopping signs, creating significant road hazards. Officers issued 32 violation tickets, gave numerous verbal warnings, and towed two unoccupied vehicles to restore traffic flow and safety.
