Woman charged with murdering sister in Camden during violent confrontation

A woman, Nancy Pexton, 69, stands accused of murdering her sister, Jennifer Abbott, during a violent confrontation at Abbott's flat in Camden, north London. The Old Bailey has heard that Pexton allegedly cut her sister's throat and then stole a diamond-encrusted Rolex watch, which Abbott was said to be deeply attached to. The incident reportedly occurred on June 10, with jurors informed that Abbott's body was discovered in her living room bearing a significant neck wound and gaffer tape across her mouth.

Prosecutors assert that Pexton isolated Abbott's Corgi dog, Prince, in the bathroom, where he remained without food for three days until a concerned neighbor intervened, discovering the scene. Detailed accounts reveal that Abbott was not wearing her beloved Rolex watch, leading to suggestions of theft as an underlying motive for the alleged murder.

In a separate case, Enzo Conticello, 29, was sentenced to 27 months in prison for stealing a handbag that contained a valuable Fabergé egg worth up to £2.2 million. The theft occurred at the Dog and Duck pub in Soho on November 7, 2024. Inside the Givenchy bag, Conticello found numerous high-value items, including a watch set, an Apple laptop, and several bank cards.

The Southwark crown court heard that Conticello's intent was to acquire 'easy money' through this targeted theft. He subsequently attempted to sell the stolen items to fund his drug habit. The judgment reinforces the seriousness with which the UK legal system treats opportunistic thefts, particularly involving precious or high-value objects.

These two cases underscore ongoing concerns surrounding violent crime and theft in London, with officials keen to address the alarming trends in these types of offenses.
