Woman Fined for Selling Fake Oasis Tickets in UK

Rosie Slater, a 33-year-old woman from Betley in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, was fined £40 and given a 12-month community order after scamming 11 people out of £4,000 by selling fake Oasis concert tickets and VIP access.

She pleaded guilty to 11 counts of fraud by false representation at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre in December.

Slater sold tickets for the band's Wembley shows via WhatsApp groups in May, charging £130 per ticket.

One victim bought 15 tickets and created WhatsApp groups to invite others to purchase tickets from Slater.

Some buyers booked non-refundable hotel rooms for the concert dates before discovering the tickets were fake.

Police said Slater exploited her connections with wealthy and famous individuals to convince victims of her credibility.

There was no evidence of coercion; she acted out of greed, using her contacts for personal gain.

Slater told police she initially had good intentions but the situation escalated out of control.

She was ordered to pay £776.98 in compensation to five victims.
