Teenager kills nine and wounds 13 in rare Turkey school shooting

A 14-year-old armed with five guns opened fire at a school in Kahramanmaras, Turkey, killing nine people and injuring 13 others on Wednesday.
The suspect died at the scene, though the cause of death has not been confirmed by officials.
The attack took place in the southern province of Kahramanmaras, where the teenager entered two classrooms and fired randomly.
Among the victims were eight children aged 10 and 11 and a 55-year-old teacher.
Funerals for the victims are planned in Kahramanmaras, as the country reels from the shock of the incident.
Schools in the province will remain closed for two days following the shooting.
This shooting is the second such incident in Turkey within a week, a country where school shootings are extremely rare.
The suspect had referenced a US mass killer, Elliot Rodger, in a photo on his WhatsApp profile.
Rodger was responsible for a 2014 attack in the United States that left six people dead before he took his own life.
Authorities have stated that no link to terrorism has been established and that this appears to be an isolated act.
The suspect's father, a former police inspector, was arrested and taken into custody.
Digital media seized from the perpetrator's home and his father's vehicle are currently being analysed.
