US singer D4vd arrested in connection with death of teenage girl

US singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, was arrested on suspicion of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Authorities detained him following a grand jury investigation into the case.

He is currently held without bail, and the case will be presented to the District Attorney's office.

Celeste Rivas Hernandez's decomposed remains were discovered in September 2025 inside a Tesla car registered to D4vd.

The vehicle was found in a Hollywood tow yard after reports of a foul odour.

The medical examiner described the body as severely decomposed and has not yet determined the cause of death.

The teenager had been reported missing by her family in April 2024.

She lived approximately 75 miles from where her remains were found.

Authorities have treated the case as a death investigation since the discovery, and a judge ordered the death records sealed to protect the investigation.

This arrest is significant as it follows months of limited information and public speculation about the circumstances surrounding the teenager's death.

The case has attracted considerable media attention and an online following due to the involvement of a well-known singer.

D4vd's legal team has stated they will vigorously defend his innocence.
