Three Charged Over Attempted Arson at Persian-Language TV Channel in London

Two young men and a teenage boy have been charged following an attempted arson attack on the offices of a Persian-language news outlet in northwest London.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when an ignited container was thrown into the premises housing the broadcaster.

London's Metropolitan Police confirmed that Oisin McGuinness, 21, Nathan Dunn, 19, both from Watford, and a 16-year-old boy from north London were charged with arson with intent to endanger life.

McGuinness also faces a charge of dangerous driving.

The container landed in a car park adjacent to the building, where the fire extinguished itself quickly.

No injuries were reported, and the fire caused no significant damage.

The suspects fled the scene in a black SUV but were pursued by armed police.

The vehicle later crashed in Finchley, north London, leading to their arrests.

Authorities have stated that the incident is not being treated as a terrorist act, although it remains under investigation by Counter Terrorism Police.

It is not linked to recent arson attacks on ambulances in Golders Green or a synagogue in Finchley.

A spokesman for the broadcaster condemned the attack, describing it as part of a sustained effort to intimidate and silence independent Persian-language journalism critical of Iran's clerical leadership.

The channel operates from a heavily secured building in west London and employs around 200 journalists worldwide.
