Woman arrested for attempted murder after car hits pedestrians in central London

A 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after driving a car into pedestrians in Soho, London, early on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at about 04:30 BST on Argyll Street near the London Palladium theatre.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene.
One woman in her 30s was taken to hospital in a critical condition, while a man in his 50s sustained life-changing injuries and was also hospitalized.
A third woman, also in her 30s, suffered minor injuries.
The driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, and drink driving.
Police have confirmed the incident is not being treated as terrorism-related.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell has called for witnesses to come forward, noting that venues in the area were still open at the time and that any information, however minor, could be crucial to the investigation.
