Woman charged with attempted murder after car hits pedestrians in Soho

A 29-year-old woman, Gabrielle Carrington, has been charged with attempted murder after a car struck pedestrians in central London on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred on Argyll Street in Soho at around 04:30 BST.

Carrington appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court where she was also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, and drink-driving.

She was remanded into custody following the hearing.

One woman, Klaudia Zakrzewska, 30, remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital.

A security guard, Anoush Chyche, a man in his 50s, was seriously injured and is reported to have suffered life-changing injuries.

Another woman sustained minor injuries.

The accused was found to have 61 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath when tested.

Carrington is also accused of assault occasioning actual bodily harm against a third person, Latisha Armstrong.
