Nine Arrested in UK Over Alleged Jewish Site Arson Plot

Counter-terrorism police in the United Kingdom have arrested nine individuals over an alleged plan to commit arson at sites connected to the Jewish community.

Two men, aged 19 and 26, were arrested in Watford on Tuesday and remain in police custody.

The other seven suspects have been released on strict bail conditions.

The arrests occurred over the past three days as part of an ongoing investigation by the Metropolitan Police into a series of arson attacks in north-west London.

These attacks have targeted Jewish community ambulances in Golders Green, two synagogues, and a former Jewish charity.

Additionally, a drone was flown near the Israeli embassy, and jars containing a non-hazardous substance were found in Kensington Gardens on 17 April.

Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans, senior national coordinator of Counter Terrorism Policing, said police are continuing to identify and arrest suspects believed to be involved in these incidents.

A 39-year-old man remains in custody under the Terrorism Act with detention extended until 28 April.

Counter-terrorism officers have arrested a total of 25 people in connection with these events.
