Cause of Death Released for Teen Found in Singer D4vd's Car Trunk

Officials have confirmed that 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, found dead in the trunk of singer D4vd's car in September 2025, died from multiple penetrating injuries.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner's office ruled her death a homicide caused by injuries inflicted by an undisclosed object or objects.

The teen was discovered in the front boot of a Tesla registered to David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd, a 21-year-old TikTok star and musician.

The medical examiner's office determined the cause and manner of death on December 9, 2025, but the information was withheld until April 22, 2026, due to the ongoing police investigation.

D4vd faces several charges related to Hernandez's death, including murder.

He has pleaded not guilty.

His legal team, including attorneys Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter, stated they will vigorously defend his innocence, asserting that the evidence will show he was not responsible for the teen's death.

Chief Medical Examiner Dr Odey Ukpo expressed relief that the findings could finally be shared with the public and the grieving family, noting the difficulty the family endured waiting for answers.

Rivas Hernandez's family issued a statement expressing gratitude to law enforcement and their community in Lake Elsinore for their support.
