Man Arrested Over Attacks on Jewish Community in London

A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of attacks targeting the Jewish community in London.

The arrest took place near Barnstaple, Devon, and the suspect is currently being questioned in London.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the investigation follows multiple incidents since March, including attacks on synagogues and ambulances.

Notably, an attack on Hatzola ambulances in Golders Green on 23 March marked the beginning of the series of events under scrutiny.

To date, 26 people have been arrested in connection with these attacks.

Eight individuals have been charged with arson-related offences, and one person has been convicted of arson.

The incidents have caused concern within the community and prompted a significant police response.

An Islamist group suspected of having Iranian links, Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia, claimed responsibility for the ambulance attack and other incidents across the UK and Europe.

This has raised concerns about the use of proxy groups by foreign states to carry out criminal acts.
