Mother charged for allegedly attempting to influence witness in double murder trial in Australia

Coleen Lamarre, mother of Beau Lamarre-Condon, has been charged with perverting the course of justice for allegedly attempting to influence a key witness in her son's double murder trial in Sydney.

The 63-year-old was arrested in Balmain and refused bail, with a court appearance scheduled for Thursday.

Beau Lamarre-Condon is accused of murdering Luke Davies and Jesse Baird in 2024.

The bodies of the victims were found in surfboard bags near Goulburn, about 200 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot the couple with his police-issued handgun at Baird's home before attempting to dispose of their bodies.

The charge against Coleen Lamarre carries a maximum prison sentence of 14 years.

She is a former employee of the New South Wales police and was arrested by homicide detectives investigating the case.

The trial of Beau Lamarre-Condon is due to begin in September and is expected to last two to three months.

This development is significant as it involves alleged interference in a high-profile trial concerning the deaths of two individuals connected to the accused.

Beau Lamarre-Condon was charged with the murders in February 2024 and was subsequently dismissed from the NSW Police Force.

He had joined the force in 2019 and previously ran a celebrity blog.

The bodies of Luke Davies, a Qantas flight attendant, and Jesse Baird, a former television presenter, were discovered in February 2024 inside surfboard bags at a rural property in Bungonia.
