US singer D4vd charged with murder of teen girl

US singer David Anthony Burke, known as D4vd, has been formally charged with the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
Prosecutors allege Burke stabbed the teenager multiple times at his home before attempting to cover up the crime.
Court documents released on 29 April 2026 detail that Burke purchased tools online under a false name, including chainsaws, a body bag, a shovel, and a "burn cage," which prosecutors say were intended to dispose of the victim's body.
The dismembered remains of Rivas Hernandez were found in Burke's car.
Prosecutors state that Burke met Rivas Hernandez when she was 11 and began sexually abusing her when she was 13 and he was 18.
Text messages presented in court reportedly show the victim threatened to expose their illicit relationship, which she said would "destroy his life." Burke appeared in court wearing an orange Los Angeles County jail jumpsuit and was shackled.
He pleaded not guilty and agreed to delay his preliminary hearing until late May.
His attorneys have denied the allegations and said they will vigorously defend his innocence.
The case has attracted public attention due to Burke's profile as a singer and social media personality.
