Man to plead guilty in Boulder firebomb attack on pro-Israel demonstrators

A man accused of a firebomb attack in Boulder, Colorado, that killed one person and injured a dozen others is due to plead guilty in state court.

Mohamed Sabry Soliman was scheduled to appear before a state district judge on Thursday to enter the plea over the attack at a downtown pedestrian mall last year.

Court filings in a related federal case say Soliman will plead guilty to murder and other charges.

He had previously pleaded not guilty in state court to murder and dozens of attempted murder and assault charges.

The attack took place on 1 June 2025 during a demonstration in support of Israeli hostages in Gaza.

Prosecutors allege Soliman threw two Molotov cocktails at demonstrators while shouting "Free Palestine!".

An 82-year-old woman who was injured in the attack later died.

A dozen other people were also injured, and Soliman faces up to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the state case.

The case has also been pursued in federal court, where Soliman has pleaded not guilty to hate crime charges.
