Man arrested near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's Norfolk home after report of intimidating behaviour
A man has been arrested after police were called to reports of intimidating behaviour near Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's home in Norfolk.
Officers said the suspect is being held on suspicion of a public order offence and possessing an offensive weapon.
Norfolk Police said they were called at about 19:30 on Wednesday to Wolferton, near the Sandringham Estate.
The force said the man was taken to King's Lynn for questioning and remains in custody.
The incident happened close to Marsh Farm, the property on the Sandringham Estate where Mountbatten-Windsor now lives.
Reports said a man wearing a balaclava ran towards him while he was walking his dogs, and that he and a member of his private security left in a car as the suspect allegedly tried to chase them.
The arrest is likely to prompt renewed attention on security around the former prince's Norfolk residence.
It also comes after his move to Marsh Farm from Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Mountbatten-Windsor has been approached for comment.
