The four countries said they are pursuing joint initiatives aimed at preventing the current situation in the Middle East from leading to a migration crisis similar to the one experienced in 2015. The statement does not provide further operational detail on the measures under discussion.

As an immediate follow-up, the respective Ministers of the Interior and Migration are due to meet in Rome on 17 June 2026 to deepen and continue their joint work. The meeting will take place at the invitation of Italy's Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedos.

The source frames the issue as a coordinated policy response by the four governments. No additional facts are given on enforcement steps, border measures, arrivals, or any active incident on the ground.
