US and Iran report fresh strikes as Gulf states intercept drones and missiles

The conflict involving the United States and Iran widened across the Gulf on Wednesday, with both sides reporting new military actions and several Gulf states saying they came under attack. The US military said it carried out self-defence strikes on Iran's Qeshm Island, while Kuwait reported that its international airport was hit by drones and missiles, causing injuries, damage to airport facilities and flight suspensions. Bahrain also reported incoming threats, with US and Bahraini air defences intercepting missiles, according to the latest military statements.
