Noontime News Recap: Kyiv hit by deadly strikes as Gulf security tensions rise

Security concerns also widened around the Gulf, after the UK Maritime Trade Operations agency reported two separate tanker incidents near the Strait of Hormuz, both off the coast of Oman. The warnings add to pressure on shipping routes through one of the world’s most sensitive waterways.  🔗

In Kuwait, the army said hostile drones were destroyed in its airspace after what it described as an attack on several vital facilities, including a government site on Bubiyan Island. The statement said the drones were intercepted before causing wider damage.  🔗

Across the border in Iraq, Iranian Kurdish opposition parties said their bases and political assets had been hit heavily since the war between Iran and Israel began. The groups, which are based in Iraq, said the strikes have damaged both military and political infrastructure.  🔗
