Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said there were fears people could be trapped under rubble after strikes in the centre of the city. The military administration later said one woman had been killed and at least 12 other people wounded.

Officials did not immediately give a full assessment of the damage. The latest strike adds to a period of intensified Russian attacks on Kyiv in recent weeks and again highlights the strain on Ukraine's air defences.
