Meloni reiterated Italy's firm support for Ukraine's sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence. She also expressed deep sympathy for the suffering caused by Russia's ongoing attacks on civilian infrastructure, as the meeting focused on continued backing for Kyiv.
Italy confirmed it will keep up humanitarian support ahead of the winter season. The aid will include additional generators, intended to support the resilience of the Ukrainian people and help maintain stability in the power grid.
Leaders also agreed on the need to strengthen the sanctions regime and counter attempts to circumvent it, with the aim of further weakening Moscow's war machine. Meloni closed by reaffirming Italy's determination to work with international partners toward a negotiation process for a just and lasting peace.
