The UN International Organization for Migration said intensifying fighting in Sudan has displaced at least another 200,000 people since late 2025. The agency said the new displacement adds to a growing humanitarian crisis in a country already described by UN officials as war-torn.

The IOM also said destructive seasonal floods are compounding the emergency. The source says the fighting is continuing to take a heavy toll on the population, with civilian protection and access to aid remaining central concerns as the Security Council receives updates from UN officials.
