UK and Ukraine align with EU sanctions decision on restrictive measures
On 15 June 2026, the Council adopted Decision (CFSP) 2026/1333 on restrictive measures concerning actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine. The decision introduced new temporary derogations from the asset freeze and from the prohibition on making funds or economic resources available to a designated entity.

The derogations allow for the wind-down of operations, contracts and other agreements concluded with that entity. They also allow industry purchases of critical components manufactured by that entity.
Albania, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway and Ukraine aligned themselves with the Council decision. They said they would ensure their national policies conform to it.
The European Union took note of the commitment and welcomed it.
