The State Emergency Service published images showing rescue crews searching through debris and extinguishing the blaze in the damaged school. The building was left charred, with its windows shattered.
The strike came amid what authorities described as increasingly intense air attacks on Kyiv and other cities, including around-the-clock drone strikes. The text said Ukrainian forces have struggled to shoot down the jet drones being used in these attacks.
It also said one person was injured in a separate Russian air strike on a shopping center in the Black Sea port city of Odessa on Thursday morning, with regional authorities saying infrastructure was damaged.
