G7 condemns Iran for attacks on Gulf states, calls for immediate halt

The G7 foreign ministers from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, the US, and the EU's High Representative issued a joint statement denouncing Iran’s recent attacks on civilian populations and critical energy infrastructure in multiple Gulf countries. These attacks targeted Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Jordan, and Iraq, raising alarms about the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
These assaults disrupt vital energy supplies and threaten the safety of maritime passage through crucial channels like the Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global oil shipments. The G7 strongly condemned Iran’s actions as reckless and unjustifiable, calling on Tehran to immediately cease all hostilities to avoid further destabilization.
The statement also cited United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, reinforcing international opposition to the violence. The widening Iranian proxy attacks risk inflaming broader regional conflicts, impacting millions across the Gulf and beyond by endangering energy markets and global security.
This unified G7 stance signals increased Western support for Gulf partners amidst intensified Iranian aggression, highlighting the potential for further escalation if diplomatic efforts fail to contain the tensions.
