Trump administration unveils plans for 250-foot 'Triumphal Arch' in Washington DC

The White House has revealed designs for a 250-foot arch to be constructed in Washington DC, inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
The monument, dubbed the "Arc de Trump," aims to be a prominent new landmark in the US capital.
Plans for the arch have been officially filed with the Commission of Fine Arts, a panel responsible for reviewing such proposals.
The arch is designed to be taller than both the US Capitol building and the Lincoln Memorial.
The monument will feature gold inscriptions reading "One Nation Under God," two gold eagles, a golden-winged Lady Liberty, and statues of gold lions at its base.
The White House stated the arch will enhance the visitor experience at Arlington National Cemetery and serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by American veterans.
This project is part of a broader effort by the current administration to reshape Washington DC with distinctive architectural additions.
It follows other controversial initiatives, including plans for a White House ballroom that is currently involved in legal disputes.
The White House has not disclosed how the arch will be funded.
