Man Arrested Outside Israeli Embassy in London Armed with Two Knives Denies Terrorism Charges

Abdullah Albadri, a 34-year-old stateless man from Kuwait, was arrested outside the Israeli embassy in London while carrying two knives.
He faces charges of preparing terrorist acts and possession of bladed articles but denies the terrorism-related allegations, stating the knives were for a non-terrorist purpose.
Court proceedings at the Old Bailey revealed that Albadri has twice entered the UK by crossing the English Channel in small boats from France, first in 2021 and again in April 2025 shortly before his arrest.
He described these crossings as dangerous, involving overcrowded vessels and life-threatening conditions.
Albadri recounted giving his life jacket to a child during his first crossing and described the fear and chaos onboard.
After arriving in the UK initially, he was granted residency status and worked as a driver in Lyon, France, but was denied citizenship.
His second crossing involved paying £1,200 to armed smugglers to be transported back to Dover in a boat carrying 63 others.
Upon arrival in the UK, he stayed temporarily in asylum accommodation but later became homeless in London.
Albadri told the court he was born into the stateless Arabian Bedoon tribe on the Iraq-Kuwait border and has no passport or human rights recognition in Kuwait.
