Wales rugby great George North announces retirement

George North, the Wales rugby star, has announced he will retire from professional rugby at the end of the current season.
North, who turned 34 earlier this month, ended his international career in 2024 after earning 121 caps and scoring 47 tries for Wales.
He played a key role in Wales winning four Six Nations titles and two Grand Slams.
North also represented the British and Irish Lions on tours in 2013 and 2017, playing three Tests and scoring two tries.
His club career included stints with Scarlets, Northampton Saints, Ospreys, and most recently French second-tier side Provence.
He has spent the past two seasons with Provence but has been hampered by injury.
During his international career, North became Wales' third most-capped men's player behind Alun Wyn Jones and Gethin Jenkins.
He is also the second highest try scorer for Wales, behind Shane Williams.
North made his debut in 2010, scoring twice against South Africa and becoming Wales' youngest try scorer at 18 years and 214 days.
