Crayola recalls craft boxes over asbestos contamination fears in UK

Two Crayola craft boxes sold in the United Kingdom have been recalled due to concerns that the sand included in the kits may be contaminated with asbestos.
The affected products are the Crayola Touchy Feely Craft Box and the Crayola Discovery Craft Box.
The recall covers items sold between March 2025 and April 2026 by major retailers including Argos, Asda, Sainsbury's, and The Works.
The importer Hunter Price International Limited is also involved in the recall.
The Office for Product Safety and Standards has warned that the sand in these kits may contain trace amounts of asbestos, posing a health risk, particularly to children.
Consumers are advised to stop using the products immediately and keep them out of children's reach.
Safety instructions have been issued for handling and disposal.
If the sand remains in its packaging, it should be placed in a heavy-duty plastic bag, sealed securely, and stored away from children.
When cleaning areas where the sand was used, gloves and masks should be worn, and wet cloths used to avoid dust generation.
