Pakistan faced a sharp rise in violence in Balochistan, where the military said rebel attacks had killed 42 people since Monday. Across the Middle East, Damascus tightened security after a series of blasts, including a later coordinated attack that killed at least one person. Financial glimpse

Asia Pacific ended sharply lower, with the Nikkei 225 down 2.8% and the Kospi plunging 12.5% as oil jumped, while the Hang Seng and Australian shares rose.  🔗

Europe opened mixed and later closed lower, with the FTSE 100 and DAX initially higher but the CAC 40 and Euro Stoxx 50 under pressure as Brent crude spiked and metals slid.  🔗  🔗

Wall Street finished mixed, with the S&P 500 up 0.9% and the Dow Jones up 1.4%, while the Nasdaq was flat and energy shares led the rotation as chips slumped.  🔗
