Ukrainian drone strike kills seven at Russian logistics centre in Kotovsk
A Ukrainian drone attack on a logistics centre in western Russia has killed seven people and wounded 24, according to the regional governor. The strike hit a Wildberries facility in the town of Kotovsk in the Tambov region, officials said. Russian authorities also reported a separate wave of drones aimed at the Moscow region overnight.

Tambov governor Evgeny Pervyshov said seven night-shift employees were killed when what he described as enemy unmanned aerial vehicles hit the site. He said preliminary information showed 24 people were wounded in the attack. Wildberries said its logistics complexes in Kotovsk and Elektrostal, in the Moscow region, came under attack.
The company said the fire that broke out at the Tambov facility had been contained. It added that firefighters were still working at the Elektrostal site. Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 370 drones were launched toward the Moscow region overnight, and that most were neutralised by air defence forces at distant approaches.
He said 64 drones were destroyed on approach to Moscow. The attack underlines the continuing use of long-range drones in the war between Russia and Ukraine. Kyiv has repeatedly struck targets inside Russia, saying the attacks are retaliation for Moscow's assaults on Ukrainian territory.

The latest incident also shows how logistics and transport infrastructure remain exposed, even far from the front line, as both sides seek to disrupt supply chains and military support networks. Wildberries is one of Russia's best-known retail and logistics companies, and its facilities handle large volumes of goods across the country. A strike on such a site can affect not only workers on the ground but also distribution networks linked to wider commercial activity.
The reported damage in both Tambov and the Moscow region suggests a coordinated overnight drone campaign rather than a single isolated incident. What remains unclear is the full extent of the damage at each site and whether there were any further casualties beyond those already reported. It is also not clear how many of the drones launched toward the Moscow region reached their intended area before being intercepted.
Further official updates are likely as emergency crews continue work at the affected facilities and regional authorities assess the aftermath.
