In the Middle East, Iran said the Strait of Hormuz will remain under its control as its standoff with the United States continues over the strategic waterway. Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi said Tehran would not yield on the issue, underlining the importance of the chokepoint for global energy flows.  🔗

Lebanon said Israeli air strikes intensified across several towns and villages in the south overnight, killing seven people near Ansar and wounding others. The escalation adds to pressure on the border region as cross border violence continues.  🔗
