In the Middle East, Iran said it had passed a seven day plan to the United States through Qatar to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, as diplomacy continued at the United Nations.  🔗 Lebanon’s prime minister also used the UN stage to demand the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon and full enforcement of the ceasefire, while shelling and demolition work continued in the south.  🔗

Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council chair Rashad al Alimi called for mobilisation and offered amnesty to Houthi defectors as the conflict shifted toward the Bab al Mandeb area.  🔗 Saudi Arabia said its coalition intercepted two drones aimed at the Riyadh area and two ballistic missiles targeting Khamis Mushait, and Pakistan warned that any Houthi threat to Mecca or Medina would cross a red line as military chiefs from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye met in Riyadh.  🔗  🔗
