Kremlin says there are no specifics on ending Ukraine war

The Kremlin has said there is no concrete plan to end the war in Ukraine, after Russian leader Vladimir Putin suggested at the weekend that the conflict could be nearing an end.

Moscow also said there were no details behind his remarks.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin had meant that Russia remained open to contact and that work had been done in a trilateral format.

He added that it was not possible at present to speak about any specifics.

The comments came as Russia and Kyiv resumed attacks overnight after a three-day ceasefire ended.

Ukraine said Russia launched more than 200 attack drones, damaging energy facilities and apartment buildings and killing at least one person.

The renewed strikes underline how far apart the two sides remain, despite recent talk of possible US-led diplomacy.

Negotiations on ending the war have so far led nowhere, and Moscow has continued to press its demands in Ukraine.

Peskov also said Putin would only agree to meet Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky outside Russia if it was to sign a final peace deal.
