Natural disasters also dominated the Americas and Asia Pacific. Wildfires near Spokane, Washington burned about 10,000 acres, destroyed more than 900 homes and forced more than 64,000 people to evacuate, while the Bald Range Fire in British Columbia forced more than 12,000 evacuations and left one woman dead. 🔗 🔗 In Colombia, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake has killed at least 224 people and left more than 2,700 missing. 🔗 Heavy rain and tropical storms flooded Manila and Luzon, where the death toll rose to at least 16. 🔗

Asia Pacific closed higher, with Tokyo and broader regional markets lifted by a sharp risk repricing, a stronger Nikkei and gains in oil, gold and silver, while the yen weakened. 🔗
Europe finished mixed, as the FTSE 100 slipped but the DAX, CAC 40 and Euro Stoxx 50 edged higher, with Brent crude and precious metals surging. 🔗
Wall Street ended sharply higher, led by technology, chips and energy, while oil, gold and silver also jumped in a broad risk on move. 🔗
